I was very fortunate to be standing at the end of the runway with a handful of people as the SR-71 took off overhead and set the speed record from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. On March 6, 1990, the Blackbird took off from Palmdale, CA Plant 42, did a fly-by at Burbank Airport with designer Kelly Johnson present, flew out over the Pacific ocean to refuel and proceeded to record a flight of 1 hour, 4 minutes, and 20 seconds, averaging a speed of 3,418 kilometers per hour (2,124 miles per hour). It was a truly monumental moment for me and those of us who supported the aircraft over the years. This SR-71 Blackbird Jet - 3D Optical Illusion Lamp just makes that event even more memorable!

Looks Great! I was a little concerned when I saw how small the box was... It looked bigger in some of the photos and I probably missed a description somewhere stating the dimensions. Not disappointed though, looks so cool! My brother will get it for his birthday in about two weeks.
* Just a thought... A larger version for more money would be Awesome! Not sure if that's possible but I would buy it!
Thank you. : )

...bought as gifts for two former USAF SR-71 jet engine mechanics. There were astounded, and became a 'little misty' is spite of their gruff exterior. Money well-spent when it invokes great memories. Thanks for producing this, they went over with a lang bang!
